Making Donations

We’ve been getting some questions about making donations, which if you’re trying to raise funds for something, those are the questions you love to field. I’m going to answer a few here. If you have any more, please leave a comment with your question and we will answer it for everyone. You can also get a little more information on our Donate page.

Q: When can I start donating?
A: Now. We have set up our bank account and are ready to accept donations.

Q: How do I donate?
A: Currently, we are only set up to accept offline donations. We know, it’s lame. We’re working on it. In the meantime, you can mail your check to:

Dynamic Water
524 E. Whitaker Mill Road
Raleigh, NC 27608.

Checks should be made payable to Dynamic Water.

One alternative to mailing a check would be to use your bank’s bill pay service to send us your donation. You can make the bill payable to Dynamic Water and have it sent to the address above.

Q: Will I ever be able to donate online?
A: Yes. Like we said in the previous answer, we’re working on it. We are still getting it set up with the bank, but most likely we are going to get our bank account attached to a PayPal account, which will allow you to donate online.

However, one thing to note is that when you donate through PayPal, they take a cut. So, even though writing checks is old fashioned, it does allow for more of your money to go to our project.

Q: Are my donations tax deductible?
A: Yes. Dynamic Water is operating under a 501(c)(3) so all contributions are tax deductible.

Q: Money is tight, but I want to help. Can I give a little now and more later?
A: Times are tough. We’re all feeling the crunch in our wallets. You can give as much, or as little, as you want.

If you want to help, but your budget is tight, one option would be to split up your donation. Instead of giving $50 or $100 now, you could give $10 or $20 a month for a few months. We hope to step up a monthly giving program once we get our online donations set up.

I hope this has answered some of the questions you have about making donations. If there is something you want to know that is not answered here, you can leave a comment or contact us directly.

Thanks a lot for considering being a part of bringing clean water to the people of Laisamis.

Laisamis, Kenya

Our first project will be to facilitate the drilling of a borehole (deep water well) in Laisamis, Kenya. Laisamis is pronounced: lie – same – us. I will share a little about the project here, but you should also go check out the Projects page for more details on this project.

We are working with the Christian Missions Fellowship, an indigenous Kenyan organization based out of Nairobi, to bring clean, safe water to their Laisamis Missions Centre. CMF’s Laisamis Missions Centre serves the Laisamis community by providing a preschool, by conducting adult literacy classes, by hosting periodic short-term medical clinics, and by serving as the distribution point for relief food from the Kenyan government.

They do all of that without a reliable source of clean water. That means that they provide meals for children daily that are prepared using potentially unclean water. That means they host medical clinics without clean water. That means that they distribute food to people in dire need of it without being able to offer those same people water to drink that is free of waterborne disease. Again, please visit the Projects page to learn more.

We have set up a Donate page with information on how you can contribute to this project. We appreciate you considering partnering up with us to bring the Laisamis community clean water.

Welcome to Dynamic Water.

The facts are astounding: “over a billion people lack access to clean water, i.e. globally, 1 person in every 6 goes without clean water”, ”more people die every year from waterborne disease than from war”,”every 15 seconds a child dies from water related disease”, “an American taking a five-minute shower uses more water than the typical person living in a developing country uses in a whole day”, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

The overwhelming nature of the facts can distract us and cause us to forget that at the basis of those facts are people.  Mothers and Fathers.  Sons and Daughters.  Neighbors and Friends.  The facts often focus on the big picture, but at the root, they are based on real lives, being lived, and lost, by real people, in real communities.  They are based on people just like you and me.

Dynamic Water is an organization dedicated to bringing clean, safe drinking water to those communities that don’t have access to such water.  We realize that we will not be able to bring clean drinking water to all the people that need it, but we refuse to let that stop us.  While we cannot provide clean, safe water to everyone who needs it, we can provide it for one community… one group of families and friends… one group of people.

Welcome to our journey.  Why don’t you come along and help us change some lives.
