Fundraiser Golf Tournament for Dynamic Water
Our golf tournaments are our largest fundraiser of the year, and this year’s was our largest ever. We had over ninety players come out to participate in the event. We have all eighteen holes sponsored by generous donors. We had prizes contributed from over thirty restaurants, hotels, and other service providers.
This year’s tournament was a smashing success, and the day could not have went much better. The day began with the threat of severe weather, but we never saw more than a sprinkle. By the end of the round, as we gathered for lunch, the weather was nearly perfect.
For this year’s event, we had set a goal of raising $5,000. Four years ago, we set a target of raising $25,000 to bring a deep water bore hole to the Laisamis Missions Centre in Laisami, Kenya. With this year’s tournament, if we were to meet our goal of raising $5,000, that would also put us over our longterm of $25,000.
I am elated to announce, that at the end of the day, after all the money was counted, we not only met our goal of raising $5,000, but we blew it out of the water. We didn’t just raise $5,000, or even just $6,000. We managed to raise over $7,000 with this year’s golf tournament.
This is very exciting news for our organization and for all of our sponsors. We are already at work to spend part of that money on a project, where we have partnered with The Thirst Project and the Kenyan Government.
